2009-present: Guilty Pleasure and other projects
On April 2008, she stated that she has recorded several songs for her next album. Tisdale has also stated her second album will have “more rock and edgier.” Tommy Page has stated that he is working on Tisdale’s second album. In a recent Cosmopolitan interview, Tisdale announced that the album’s name is Guilty Pleasure and it will be “sexier” than her other album. The album is set for a Spring release. Tisdale announced that the first single is called “It’s Alright, It’s OK”, and discusses two more tracks:”Hot Mess”, which “is about hanging out with a motorcycle bad boy”; and “How Do You Love Someone?”, about “a girl who deals with the split of her parents”.
Tisdale will appear in the 20th Century Fox’s new adventure comedy, They Came From Upstairs along with Robert Hoffman and Carter Jenkins, which will be released in July 2009. Tisdale portrays Bethany Pearson and the film was shot in Auckland, New Zealand. In 2009, she guest starred as Maddie Fitzpatrick on The Suite Life on Deck. Tisdale is also starting to produce. She has a production company, Blondie Girl Productions and is working in two projects. She is the first actress from Disney Channel to executive-produce one of their shows. On Live with Regis & Kelly, she stated that she is currently working on a Disney Channel series based on her early life working in a mall. Tisdale also signed a deal with FremantleMedia to produce a reality show. She also left Gersh Agency and joined Creative Artists Agency. Tisdale has collaborated with Jessica Horowitz to create a animated series, After Midnight which is currently being shopped around for distribution.
